From the moment I decided to run for the Artesia City Council, I knew I wanted to learn as much as I could, so that I could educate my students and empower them to pursue social justice. After over 20 years of public service which includes nearly 12 years on the Artesia City Council as a Mayor and Councilman, over 12 years as an Artesia Planning Commissioner and Chairman, and as a newly appointed member of the Los Angeles County Mental Health Commission, I want to be a resource to all social workers to support their civic engagement.
